Installation Meeting. Wednesday 4th March 6.30. p.m. |
|
The Grange Club Edgeley Stockport |
|
| Another great meeting to look forward to and just for a change I’m not climbing the on ramp for the M60 heading North, in fact tonight the location is the farthest Mark Lodge as we can go in the South of our West Lancs Province. For a change there was no queue getting up the on ramp for the M60 for the first time ever, but wait getting off was another story, 20 minutes to clear our wonderful motorway. | |
| Not too far to arrive at the Grange which is in fact a green Bowling Club, a very pleasant well-kept exterior with a reasonable sized car park, once inside I went off mooching around as usual, an excellent bar area with plenty of seating to enjoy a quiet drink before going upstairs to Lodge room. It’s not the largest you will ever see but very pleasant and welcoming. | |
| Before the meeting began everyone present stood in silence in respect to the memory of the Pro Grand Master. MW Bro. Peter Herbert Pzizeman coupled with loss of our much-respected W.Bro. Brian Hayes PAGDC. | |
| The meeting then commenced and following several housekeeping items our
Provincial Grand Master R.W. Bro. Keith Alan Beardmore G.M.R.A.C.
entered the Lodge accompanied by Acting Grand and Provincial Grand Officers. |
|
| Keith was welcomed by the W.M. on behalf of everyone present and offered the Gavel, on this occasion however it was handed back and with a twinkle in his eyes saying he knew that the W.M. was keen to get on with the Ceremony. All below the rank of an Installed Master were requested to retire from the Lodge for a short period and a Board of Installed Masters was then opened. W.Bro. B.E.Cross P.Pr.GJD was duly Installed into the chair of Adoniram in fine style. | |
| All Mark Master Masons were then re admitted and W.Bro. B. E. Cross was proclaimed WMM of the Cloister Lodge for the ensuing year. The Working Tools were presented and explained along with presenting the Warrant of the Lodge, the Book of Constitutions and Bye Laws, by W.Bro.V.C.Wren PPrGMO., who had a busy evening as he now gave the address to the newly Installed WMM. | |
| Officers of the Lodge for the ensuing were now appointed and Invested with the collars of their rank, Bro. T. J. Levison as Senior Warden, W.Bro. P. F. Shepherd as Junior Warden. | |
| The address to the Wardens was given by W.Bro. C.S. Walls Prov GSW. The address to all the Brethren (my favourite) was given by our own Prov Grand Master. Keith then gave his personal greeting to the WMM and all the Brethren for a happy and healthy year ahead. In return the newly Installed WMM thanked Keith and had much pleasure in presenting a cheque to the value of £200 for the WLMC, Keith said it was a very generous amount from such a small lodge and would be much appreciated and put to good use by the needy. | |
| Following the Risings and Apologies there being no further business to transact the Lodge was closed in Due Form at 7.55 p.m. | |
| Provincial Grand Lodge Meeting is in Blackpool 15th April. | |
| Provincial Mark Ball is on 24th October 2026. | |
| Not a member of the Royal Ark Mariner Degree yet just have a chat with the Secretary | |
| My personal Thanks to W. Bro. Nigel F Paton PGStdB the Lodge Secretary for his help with the notes. | |
| Words and pictures by A.N.Fletcher. PGJD. FSE Lodge No 1173. |
